Manchester is the North's biggest airport and it uses three terminals — with a fourth (T2 expansion) increasingly taking flights away from T1. Here's the current picture.
Terminal 1
Being progressively wound down as T2 expands. Currently still serves some Ryanair, easyJet, Aer Lingus, Loganair and other European short-haul. Older facilities. Expect further changes over the next year.
Terminal 2
The expanded flagship. British Airways, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Singapore Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic, most TUI long-haul, and increasingly Jet2 operations. Modern, spacious, best security experience of the three.
Terminal 3
Jet2 primary base plus Ryanair overflow. Compact, quick — but security can be a bottleneck at 4–6am when the Jet2 charters stack up.
Which terminal is your flight?
Always check your boarding pass the night before. Manchester moves flights between terminals as T2 expansion phases roll out — a booking made 6 months ago might now depart from a different terminal.
Drop-off
All three terminals have a short-stay drop-off with a £5 fee for a 15-minute stay (included in our fixed fare). There's also a free "JetParks" drop-off further out — we can use it on request, but it adds 5–10 minutes.
Timing from Nottingham
Door-to-terminal is about 1h 50min via M1/M6/M56. We recommend leaving 3 hours before long-haul and 2 hours before short-haul. See our [Nottingham to Manchester Airport](/airports/manchester) page for prices and route details.
