Very few airport journeys are actually A to B. Someone needs collecting in the next village, a case needs dropping at a parent's house, a colleague joins at a hotel near the motorway. We handle those as vias, and the price is worked out before you book — not argued about in a layby.
How vias are priced
Add a via and the quote recalculates immediately based on the real routing distance and time, not a flat per-stop fee. A five-minute detour costs a fraction of a twenty-mile diversion, which is how it should be.
You can add up to eight stops on a single booking. Each one is listed in your confirmation, in order, with the full address.
The order is the order
Vias are executed in the sequence you enter them. If the pick-up is Arnold, via one is Sherwood, via two is Beeston and the destination is East Midlands Airport, that is exactly the route your driver is given.
On a return booking, we automatically reverse the sequence for the homeward leg. The last person collected on the way out is the first dropped on the way back — which is almost always what people want, and saves you re-entering six addresses.
Full addresses, everywhere
Every confirmation, driver notification and operator screen shows the full first pick-up address, then each via in full, then the destination. Drivers do not get "plus a stop in Arnold". They get the door number.
Waiting at a via
Short stops — someone getting in with a bag — are expected and free. If you need a driver to wait somewhere for a meaningful length of time, say so in the booking notes and we will price it properly up front rather than as a surprise.
Vias on airport pick-ups
Coming home works the same way. Land at East Midlands, drop a colleague in Long Eaton, then home to Derby: one booking, one price, one car. Flight tracking still applies, and the standard hour of grace time on airport pick-ups is unaffected by having stops later in the journey.
When a via is not the right answer
If two people are travelling from genuinely opposite directions, two separate transfers can be cheaper than one long zig-zag. The booker will show you the via price; it is worth quoting both ways before deciding.
