School summer holidays (mid-July to early September) are our busiest weeks. Here's the playbook.
Book windows
- Peak weeks (last week July, first two weeks August): book 4–6 weeks ahead. Later bookings fill only with second-choice vehicle sizes or higher.
- Shoulder weeks (last two weeks August): 2–3 weeks ahead is fine.
- Same-week bookings: possible but usually only for larger vehicles or off-peak times.
Peak pickup hours
- 3–5am: charter-flight peak. Ryanair, Jet2, TUI to Med resorts. Fill up first.
- 6–8am: Easyjet, BA European day flights.
- 10am–1pm: leisurely long-haul from Manchester/Birmingham.
Timing rule for summer
Add 15 minutes to the drive time in any month between June and September; the A453 and M1 J24 are both slower in warmer months due to volume. This is real — we see it every year.
Airport security in summer
Expect 45–60 minute queues at every UK airport at 5–7am on Saturdays and Sundays in July/August. Priority security (£8–15) pays for itself in stress reduction.
Vehicle choice
Families packing for a week away routinely underestimate luggage: - 4 adults + a week's cases = MPV, not saloon. - 4 adults + kids' pushchairs = MPV or 8-seater. - Golf/ski/dive gear = estate or MPV.
Tell us at booking. A £10 upgrade avoids "the cases won't fit" panic at pick-up.
Return-airport peak
Saturday and Sunday afternoons in August are our busiest inbound windows. Meet & Greet means we're there regardless — but book early so the driver is committed to you and not stretched.
